BASALE · LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Basale handles information when you use its skin-tracking app, doctor community, and related services. Basale helps you record skin changes and prepare for dermatology visits. It does not provide a medical diagnosis.
2. Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, Basale processes account and sign-in details; skin photos; lesion names, anatomical locations, timestamps, notes, medication information, and photo histories; and reminder preferences. Skin records and medication notes can contain sensitive health information.
Doctor accounts also provide profile photos, biographies, credentials and verification documents, case posts, images, and comments.
3. Permissions and device information
Camera and photo-library access support capturing or uploading images. Notification permission supports reminders. Location permission supports nearby dermatologist searches; you can instead enter a city or postal code. Sunscreen reminders do not require location access. Permissions can be changed in your device settings.
4. How information is used
Information is used to manage accounts, save and organize skin records, display photo comparisons, generate PDF exports, schedule reminders, find dermatologists, verify doctors, and support community discussions. Where AI analysis is enabled, submitted images are processed to provide informational results.
5. Service providers and sharing
The planned app uses Supabase to store skin images organized by user and spot, and Google Maps and Places to provide dermatologist searches. Location or search input is processed as needed for that feature. Exported PDFs are shared with recipients you choose. Doctor profiles, case posts, and comments are visible in the verified doctor community. Verification documents are provided for administrative review.
6. AI processing
AI results can be incomplete or incorrect and must not be treated as a diagnosis. Before images or other personal data are sent to a third-party AI service, the app must explain which provider receives them, what is sent, why it is sent, and obtain explicit permission.
7. Retention and deletion
Skin records need to remain available for the photo-history feature. Retention must be limited to what is needed for the stated purposes, legal obligations, and security. Account deletion and withdrawal of consent must be supported by the app’s actual processes. Exported files and copies shared with other people may remain outside Basale’s control.
8. Your choices
You can control camera, photo, location, and notification permissions through your device. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal data, depending on applicable law.
Deleting an account does not by itself cancel an App Store subscription. Subscription management is separate.
9. Security
Personal and health information require appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. No internet service can promise absolute security.
10. Policy updates
This policy may be updated from time to time. The date above identifies the latest revision.
11. Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, sign-up time, and consent to send Basale launch updates. This information is stored to manage the waitlist and is not displayed publicly. Joining is optional and does not create an app account.
